Travel with purpose
Your trip to Tanzania can help a child at school and at home.
Three Arusha travel companies fund the foundation. For every guest they host, each gives $25 to the foundation, paid from their revenue and never added to your price. And through the Hody Community Fund, 1% of every Hody guest booking goes to the foundation.

Want to do more?
Many guests add a gift to their booking: a term of lunches, a scholar for a year, a year of health cover, or beds and mattresses for a family. Tell your trip planner or give directly here, and we send a receipt and an update after your trip.

Build a reading room on your school trip
Through Wildcation Travels, visiting schools from abroad can fundraise for a reading room before they travel. The room is built by local carpenters; during the trip, with the school’s permission, the group can visit and join a reading session led by the school’s own teachers.

How we protect the children
Visits can be good for everyone when they are planned with care. Ours follow our child safeguarding policy.
What is the Hody Community Fund?
Hody, the Tanzanian app for private homes and rides, sends 1% of every guest booking to The Little Oasis Foundation. Every stay or ride booked on Hody helps a child at school and at home.
Is the $25 added to my trip price?
No. The travel company pays it from its own revenue. Your price stays the same.
Can we visit a school during our trip?
Sometimes, by arrangement, with the head teacher’s agreement and the permission the local education authorities require. Visits are short and always supervised by teachers. We do not arrange visits to orphanages or children’s homes.
Can we visit the families you support?
Home visits are made by our team with the local leaders. We do not take tour groups to family homes. A donor who funds a home may occasionally join a planned visit, only if the family agrees.
Can we volunteer?
A short, supervised visit is not volunteering. Volunteer work in Tanzania needs the correct permit from the Immigration Department, so we do not offer volunteering on a tourist visa.
Can we bring donations?
Please ask us first. Unplanned gifts can cause problems at a school. We tell you exactly what is needed, or buy it locally with your money, which also supports local shops.
Can I take photos of the children?
Only with the school’s permission, and never of a child who does not want to be photographed. Please do not post children’s names, schools or locations online.
Together we can change lives.
A uniform, a hot meal, a health card, a book, a bed. Small things that change a child’s life.
